mismatched perfection

My collection of vintage silver plated cutlery is something I’ve been working on for a couple of years. I hope to eventually assemble a number of complete formal place settings, but in the meantime I enjoy seeking out each piece and watching my collection gradually evolve. Since variety is what makes this collection my very own, I’m constantly looking for unique patterns, monograms and pieces engraved with the crest of a hotel or restaurant.

the perfect manicure

I have my grandmother to thank for my obsession with perfectly shaped and painted digits. I’ve held on to this vintage Elizabeth Arden booklet found stashed away in her basement for years. I absolutely love the simplicity of the illustrations and the way the coloured sheets of paper have been assembled.

For the perfect manicure from start to finish, my must-haves are the Sephora Collection 4-Step Buffer (not pictured), a glass nail file (see #5 below!) to prep and essie’s “to dry for” top coat – which is by far the shiniest and easiest to apply. Featured are essie’s Watermelon and California Coral.
